Touch screens

One of the challenges of a smartphone, can be how to use the touch screen. Once upon a time, you pushed a button and felt it click, or stop, and that made something happen. e.g. you push the button on the TV remote and the channel changes.

Smartphones work differently. Instead of pushing buttons, there are “gestures”. The screen reacts to the touch of your finger and that instructs the phone to do something, e.g. open an app or type a letter. If you think about it from the idea that the screen is reacting to the warmth from your finger, that can help. The screen also senses how long your finger is touching (long press) and the direction it travels (swiping).

Be gentle, yet firm with your touch.
